This 18min melodic journey produced by Gulls from Portland Oregon and Joey4K out of the Netherlands could be dubbed as a moving meditation, for the frequency of the music is truly hypnotic, pulling you in from its inception, and keeping you engaged throughout.

The title and opening track, ‘Come Alive’ invites us to take a close look inside, to better understand and know ourselves, reminding us that the true origin of our peace, health and happiness is not found outside of us but within.

‘Question’ the second track on the EP is a dance infused hit that speaks to the endless possibilities that exist in the universe, literally asking the question, “How can life get any better than this?” And encourages us to look around and take note of the things that we our grateful for even in times of challenge.

‘Champion’ the lead single from the project calls on all beings of the earth to step up and be the champions that you are, in your everyday life and beyond. “It’s a war out there/It’s a war out there/Give them a champion/Give them fighters a champion . . . chants the dynamic duo on this high energy anthem produced by Joey4K.

“Take This Life’ is a dancehall infused ode to living the life you desire and the sacred ganja plant. The hook says it all in this one, “Nobody take this life/my heart is one with I and I/hit the ganja take flight/slow it down for me.” The shortest in length of all the songs on the project it may be, this fyah tune packs plenty of punch and feel good vibes.

The EP closes with ‘Be Still,’ a prompt to slow the pace down a bit and take a moment to reconnect with the self. Even in the midst of COVID, our days can be filled with lots of activity and distraction. It’s important to remember to put a pause on things at times, if not daily to take care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and most of all spiritually.

In summary, this EP is fresh, unique, and laced with outstanding production, catchy melodies and in depth lyricism filled with timeless wisdom. The energy/chemistry between Madgesdiq and CEG is naturally magnetic and no doubt (simply) undeniable.
